Upcoming City Hall Vestibule Construction

As part of the City of Delta’s ongoing efforts to provide improved service to residents, Delta City Hall will soon undergo a series of upgrades and infrastructure improvements, including the addition of a vestibule to the main entrance.

This new vestibule is replacing the current front entrance and will serve to improve sustainability at City Hall by climate-controlling the front lobby space. The updated design limits cool air from escaping during the summer months and restricts cold air from entering during the winter. Additionally, the new entrance will provide people with diverse accessibility needs greater ease-of-access to the building.

“Delta City Hall is due for alterations that better reflect the City’s commitment to environmental responsibility and creating more sustainable workplaces,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. “While these improvements will enhance and modernize the aesthetics of City Hall, the designs were made with the intention of improving access for residents while also remaining committed to responsible environmental stewardship.”

Construction on the vestibule is scheduled to begin August 1, 2024, and is targeted for completion in late fall 2024.

During the construction period, residents are encouraged to engage with City services online through Delta.ca/Services or by calling 604-946-4141. Some of the most frequently accessed in-person services available online include:

  • Tree Removal and Highway Use Permit applications
  • Freedom of Information requests
  • Building Permit applications
  • Business Licence applications
  • Dog Licences
  • Property Tax and Utility Bill payments
  • Parks, Recreation & Culture program registration

Hours of operation for in-person services at City Hall will be impacted during this time, with the building being open to the public from 9 am until 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
