The YAK pass is being introduced to provide as much access to recreation opportunities as possible for Delta’s younger residents.
Other services offered at Delta’s recreation facilities will not be impacted by the YAK Pass.
The YAK Pass gives full access to Delta’s Parks, Recreation & Culture facilities and drop-in activities for Delta residents 18 years of age and younger, whereas the Youth Admission Pass provided access to residents between the ages of 10 and 18 years.
On February 17, 2025, residents who are already enrolled in the Youth Admission Pass program will automatically be transferred to the YAK Pass. Residents enrolling for the first time must provide proof of residency at any Delta recreation centre customer service office.
For those 18 and under, we will accept proof of residency from the parent or guardian. Including, Driver’s License, BC Services Card, property tax notice, Delta utilities bill, BC Assessment notice, or tenancy agreement. Please ensure you have proof of residency when obtaining a YAK Pass.
Yes. Starting April 1, 2025, the City of Delta has a variety of different reduced admission rates available for people outside the YAK Pass demographics including:
- Super Seniors (75+ years, Delta Residents) are able to use Delta facilities for free
- Reintroduction of the 10-punch pass
- Annual passes have been reduced to the cost of eight monthly passes, instead of ten monthly passes.
Staff will be working through all existing passes issued to Delta children and will be processing prorated refunds back to customers’ accounts as account credit. Given the volume of active passes, we anticipate this process will take 4-6 weeks. We ask for your patience as we process these account credits.
