Recognition of Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club 50th Anniversary
Mayor Jackson recognized members of the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club for their tremendous community service, in honour of the Club’s 50th Anniversary. The Lions Club has supported the communities of Tsawwassen and Point Roberts, Washington, since 1968, with programs for community groups, children and seniors and hosts a number of annual events including a Canada Day celebration at Diefenbaker Park and Father’s Day breakfast at Cenntennial Beach. Congratulations on this milestone anniversary!

Fenced Off-leash Area
Council approved the establishment of a new fenced off-leash area on the Delta Community Animal Shelter’s grounds. The project costs for this new amenity will be covered by the Tollie Fund. This project will help enhance the well-being of shelter dogs, while also providing the public with a safe and stimulating space for off-leash dogs. View the staff report.

Community Emergency Preparedness Fund
Council endorsed the submission of five City funding applications to the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund, a fund administered by the BC Government and the Union of BC Municipalities. Delta’s five applications for funding include: (1) Emergency Social Services equipment and supplies, (2) electronic equipment for the emergency operations centre, (3) updating Delta’s evacuation plan and livestock evacuation plan, (4) upgrades to the Boundary Bay Dike Foreshore, along with (5) flood mitigation planning.
