Recognition of Delta’s Support and Assistance in Responding to 2017 Freshet and Wildfire Emergencies

Mayor Lois E. Jackson was presented with a plaque by Fire Chief Paul Scholfield on behalf of the Province of British Columbia in recognition of the support provided by the City of Delta in responding to and assisting those communities impacted by the 2017 freshet and wildfires. 


Community Safety Plan

Council received a presentation from Chief Constable Neil Dubord regarding the Delta Police Department’s 2018 – 2022 Community Safety Plan. 


Indoor Tennis Facility

Council endorsed the recommendation that an invitation be sent to to submit a proposal for an indoor tennis facility. The proposal would include the organization’s governance structure, preferred locations, and how they would provide significant financial contribution towards capital investment in the project.  View the staff report

2017 Audited Financial Statements

Council received a presentation from the Director of Finance and Manager of Financial Services regarding the 2017 Consolidated Financial Statements. The financial statements were prepared in accordance with Canadian public sector accounting standards using guidelines established by the Public Sector Accounting Board of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. The financial statements provide insight into the state of the municipality’s finances and financial viability, both short term and long term, including its revenue sources, economic activities, and the quality of its financial management. Gazebo Fundraiser

Council approved the sale and removal of the gazebo located at the corner of 48 Avenue and Delta Street in Ladner Village. The gazebo will be offered to the public for sale, with any funds generated from the sale directed towards the Ladner Business Association Tree Lighting program. A minimum sale price will be set at $500 and the successful purchaser would be required to remove the gazebo by Saturday, June 2, 2018. View the staff report.
