Heritage Week Wrap-up

Heritage Week officially wrapped up on February 26. The unique program of events and festivities included as part of this year’s celebration were incredibly well-received in the community. Thank you to all those who participated and engaged with the online Heritage Hunt Photo Contest. Contest will be announced shortly, so pay attention to, as well as Delta’s social media channels to see if you are one of Delta’s lucky heritage connoisseurs. 

Delta Idol Results

On Friday, February 24, the finalists for Delta Idol 2017 preformed at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre in front of a live audience filled with adoring supporters. All of the competitiors were local, home-grown talent, and each impressed the judges with their unique style. Congratulations to this year’s grand prize winner from North Delta, Grace Hight. For her outstanding victory, Grace wins three hours of recording time and one hour of mix time at a local recording studio.

Experience North Delta Recreaton Centre Pass Sale

February 28 is the last day to purchase the Experience North Delta Recreation Centre Pass. The pass grants access to the fitness area, arena, gymnasium, and pool at the North Delta Recreation Centre, for over 60% off the regular price of 25, 50, and 100 admission passes, or 3, 6, or 12 month passes. The pass can be purchased from any Delta recreation facility, but is only valid at the North Delta Recreation Centre. To learn more, visit or call 604-952-3045.


Contract Awards

Council approved contracts for a variety of projects within Delta, including in the contract for replacement compact pickup trucks, which was approved by Council as part of the 2017 Equipment Program at the December 12, 2016 Regular Meeting. The other contract awards approved relate to the 10A Avenue Improvements project, the Dawson Crescent and 96 Avenue Improvements project, the 118 Street Improvements project, and the Crescent Drive road Improvements project.
