Recreation 50+ Your July Guide

Our seniors recreation centres do a fantastic job of organizing a wide range of fun events and programs for young-at-heart Delta residents. 

Each month, we highlight a few of these events and programs in our Recreation 50+ updates. 

What's Happening in July

McKee Seniors Recreation Centre

*Please note McKee is closed Wednesday, July 1 for Canada Day 

Country Western Jamboree
Saturday, July 18
Come on down to the McKee Corral for an evening of dinner and dancing! Jammers In the Park 4–5 pm, dinner 5–6 pm (bar opens at 5), entertainment by Sincerely Yours 7–9:30 pm. Cost: Members $12/Guests $14. Tickets at the Customer Service Desk.

Pickleball Club
Summer pickleball times are 6–8 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 10 am – 12 pm on Saturdays.

Diner's Club: Felico's Restaurant
Tuesday, July 21
Join us for food and fun at Felico's Restaurant: 8140 Leslie Road, Richmond. For more information or to sign up, visit the Customer Service Desk.

Kennedy Seniors Recreation Centre

Steveston Village Bus Trip
Saturday, July 11, 10:30 am
Spend the day strolling, snacking, and shopping along Steveston Village's beautiful waterfront. The bus will leave Kennedy at 10:30 am and return at approximately 2:30 pm. Cost: Members $20/Guests $25 (does not include lunch).

Afternoon Matinees
Thursdays, 1:30 pm

Want to beat the heat? Come and cool your heels in air-conditioned comfort every Thursday afternoon in the café, through July and August (with the exception of July 23). Enjoy a movie, served up with a surprise summery refreshment ($1)!

Dental Care Tips
Friday, July 10, 10:30 am – 12 pm
Stop by the front lobby to learn some helpful tips for denture care, tooth whitening, and more. Presentations by students in the Discovery College Dental Program.

Volunteers Needed!

Shoppers for Seniors
In partnership with Save-On-Foods, McKee Seniors Recreation Centre volunteers provide a shopping service for seniors in the community. Grocery orders are taken Mondays from 9:30–11 am at McKee, and volunteers fill the orders Tuesdays from 8–9 am at the Ladner Save-On-Foods. If you are interested in volunteering for this most worthwhile program, please contact the Customer Service Desk.
