Representatives from the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority presented information on the status of the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 project, addressing issues of concern and next steps. In terms of the environmental assessment for this project, the BC Environmental Assessment Office will rely on the Federal review panel in making a recommendation to the BC Minister of Environment. In response to recent public requests regarding the issue of promoting diversity and supporting the inclusion of LGBTQ people in Delta, Council referred this issue to Delta’s new Community Livability Advisory Committee. The Committee will consider options and make recommendations on how the City can more proactively support diversity. Once received, staff will report the Committee’s recommendations to Council for consideration. View the staff report.
Council received information on an upcoming temporary road closure that will take place from March 6, 2019 to April 5, 2019 on 34B Avenue at Arthur Drive in Ladner. The temporary closure is to enable Metro Vancouver to install a new section of watermain as part of its South Delta watermain upgrade project. A detour route has been established to accommodate local traffic for the duration of the temporary closure. View the staff report.
As part of the City’s infrastructure renewal program, Council approved a design and build contract for the installation of mechanical upgrades for the existing ice plant at Tilbury Ice arena. View the staff report.
