Council approved a $103,456 grant to the Delta School District in support of their 2018-2019 Adult School Crossing Guard Program. The program provides funding for crossing guards at 25 Delta crosswalk locations, helping improve safety and access for children. View the staff report.
Council awarded a contract to initiate a Tsawwassen Transportation Study of current and future traffic volumes along key signalized locations. The study will include the collection of intersection traffic data along 56 Street, 52 Street and 12 Avenue. View the staff report.

Council gave first and second readings to a Zoning Amendment Bylaw, which proposes to change the minimum lot width in the Single Detached Residential 7 Zone from 12m (39ft) to 11m (36ft). The amendment was requested by Council in response to community concerns related to the new zoning bylaw, which was adopted on April 9, 2018. View the staff report.
Council approved a request to develop a Neighbourhood Small Grants program with the Delta Foundation, a non-profit community organization. The program encourages individuals, groups and organizations to plan social activities, sporting and other events (i.e. potluck block party, community gardening) to engage neighbourhoods and bring people together. Delta will provide administrative support during the first year of this partnership. View the staff report.
Council agreed to implement the following changes for film productions occurring in Ladner Village and at the North 40 Park Reserve: restrictions on parking for film companies and improved notification and communication of film schedules to affected businesses and the public. The changes were proposed in response to public feedback received from a Delta survey on productions at these two popular film locations. View the staff report.
Council initiated the consultation process (i.e. public notification, public hearing) for a new development application received to construct two single-storey commercial buildings at 9568 Burns Drive; located in the Agricultural Land Reserve. The proposal includes one building with leasable spaces for five tenants, along with a second building with a drive-thru restaurant. To proceed, this application requires an amendment to the Regional Growth Strategy and Delta’s Official Community Plan to change the land use designation, along with rezoning and permits.
