A joint investigation team comprised of Delta Fire & Emergency Services and BC Wildfire Service personnel has completed its investigation into the Burns Bog fire that occurred in July 2016.
The team has determined that the fire originated around the base of one of the radio towers located in the affected area. At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
Although this was a very successful firefighting effort, Delta Fire & Emergency Services will continue to work collaboratively with Metro Vancouver Parks, BC Wildfire Service and other supporting agencies to review its procedures and protocols to ensure the most effective response capability.
