Delta City Council will hold a Public Hearing, in accordance with the Local Government Act, in the Council Chamber at the Delta City Hall, 4500 Clarence Taylor Crescent, Delta BC, on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, commencing at 7:00pm, in order to consider the following proposed projects and related applications:

Project No. 1

Zoning Amendments for Regulation of Brew Pubs

(P19-01F)

 

Locations:

Properties zoned Core Commercial (C1), Service Commercial 1 (CS1),

Service Commercial 2 (CS2) and Waterfront Industrial (I6) as well as the locations shown on Maps No. 1A and 1B.

Proposal:

At the May 6, 2019 Regular Meeting, Council resolved that staff report back with a review of existing locations and zoning regulations pertaining to brew pubs as well as opportunities to update those regulations and expand the allowable locations.

At the October 7, 2019 Regular Meeting, staff brought forward Bylaw No. 7881 and 7882 which include proposed updates to the regulation of brew pubs as well as an expansion of the allowable locations as discussed below. The bylaws were granted first and second readings and referred to a Public Hearing.

Removal of Restrictive Covenant Requirements for Secondary Suites

(P19-01C )

Proposal:

Eliminate the zoning requirements for owners to enter into Section 219 restrictive covenants in relation to regulating and prohibiting secondary suites as described below.

This amendment is proposed in order to streamline the permitting process and reduce administrative requirements. “Delta Zoning Bylaw No. 7600, 2017” would continue to regulate the standards identifying where secondary suites are a permitted use and the conditions of the use.
