Mayor Harvie is scheduled to present the City of Delta’s submission to the review panel on Wednesday May 15 at Tsawwassen Springs. Delta’s submission is summarized as follows:
That the environmental assessment review process for the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project should not proceed any further until: (i) there is greater certainty regarding the need and appropriateness of RBT2 to address Canada’s trading needs, (ii) the Deltaport Fourth Berth Proposal has been properly assessed, and (iii) there is greater certainty and consensus regarding impacts on critical habitats and endangered species, including biofilm, migratory shorebirds and the southern resident killer whales; and that any approval of RBT2 must be contingent upon the resolution of traffic congestion at the George Massey Tunnel.
