Welcoming Mr. Param Grewal to the Mayor's Office

Mayor George V. Harvie and Council are pleased to welcome Mr. Param Grewal to the position of Director of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs in the Mayor’s Office on a four (4) year employment contract.

Param comes to us with over 30 years of diverse experience in both the public, non-profit and private sector, as well as extensive volunteer experience supporting the community. He has vast experience in working with the various levels of government both at a provincial and federal level.  Param brings with him significant experience working with community in support of various initiatives and social programming.

We are very excited to have Param join the City of Delta. Please join us in welcoming Param.

PARAM GREWAL


Param is an entrepreneur, community activist and a passionate advocate for the underprivileged.

Knowledgeable in Provincial and Federal politics having worked as political staff, community outreach specialist and strategist with MLAs, MP and Ministers.

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Arts (BA): Psychology and Sociology.
Masters Degree in Business Management (MBA): Major in Marketing.

Experience:

Extensive and Diverse work experience of over thirty years: In the Corporate world as a Marketing Professional; Non-Profit Social Service Organizations including PICS as a Director of Social Programs, as an Entrepreneur in the food industry and as a Political Staff (Constituency Assistant, Ministerial Assistant, Executive Assistant with elected officials like MLAs MP, Cabinet Ministers and others.

Volunteer Experience:

Served on these Boards and Committees for over five years.

  1. South Asian Community Coalition Against Youth Violence.(SACCAYV)
  2. Farm and Ranch Safety and Health Association (FARSHA) now know as AgSafeBC
  3. BCPIAC: BC Public Interest Advocacy Centre (BCPIAC), a Non Profit organization funded by The Law Foundation of BC.
