New Application Received for 5262 Ladner Trunk Road

Council initiated the consultation process (i.e. public notification, public information meeting) for an application proposal to redevelop and replace the existing 28-unit rental apartment at 5262 Ladner Trunk Road with a new four-storey apartment building. The proposal includes 62 dwelling units comprised of 42 strata units and 20 dedicated rental units. This application requires an amendment to Delta’s Official Community Plan, along with rezoning and permits. View the staff report.


Delta Responds to Recent Publications on Municipal Finances

Council received a report from the Finance Director in response to recent reports on the City’s finances and spending from The Fraser Institute and the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses. Delta is in a stable financial position, with all of its general debt paid off five years ahead of schedule. Update on Agricultural Climate Change Adaptation Program

Council approved the continuation of Delta’s participation and partnership with the BC Agriculture and Food Climate Action Initiative to support ongoing agricultural work and climate change adaptation planning. This partnership will help achieve the next phase of implementation of identified Delta projects. View the staff report.


Roberts Bank Terminal 2 – Second Submission to Review Panel

Council endorsed the submission of Delta’s comments on the supplemental information received regarding the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project (RBT2) environmental assessment to the Review Panel. Key comments include that the City of Delta be provided an opportunity to address the Review Panel, to ensure the concerns of the host community on a variety of issues are heard and mitigation options considered. Southlands Leases

Council approved lease agreements between the City and Century Industries Ltd. for the following Southlands amenity land areas owned by the City: (1) Greenspace/Park lands, (2) Community Farm Lands, and (3) Market Square lands. View the staff report.
