The Delta Career Fair Returns to Sungod Recreation Centre for 2018

Apr 18, 2018

For many people, especially the young adults about to move forward from high school, the future can be daunting. The options seem endless with thousands of questions that need to be answered before any major decisions can be made. Taking the first step can feel overwhelming. Fortunately, we are here to help.

On May 3, 2018, the Delta Trades and Technical Career Fair will help provide the push you need to seriously start considering your future.

For the past five years, Delta has brought post-secondary institutions, employers, and industry professionals into the arena at Sungod Recreation Centre to offer Career Fair attendees a hands-on experience with some great career options. With a variety of demonstrations, speakers, booths, and presentations, the Delta Career Fair provides you with the path to choose your experience.

From 9:00 am through 4:00 pm, attendees will be able to peruse dozens of exhibits  and get their hands dirty and their feet into the first steps of a new career in the trades. In addition to many great exhibits during the main event, post-secondary institutions will also be recruiting in the Sungod lobby from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Among the exhibitors at this year’s Career Fair are the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Vancouver Community College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Telus, the Canadian Armed Forces, and Ocean Trailer, as well as Show Stage presentations from Build Together, the Women of the Building Trades, and White Spot. The Find Your Fit Tour also returns to the gymnasium at Sungod Recreation Centre to help students discover their fit for future careers.

The Career Fair was started by Mayor Lois E. Jackson in 2013 to provide a platform to inspire students and citizens looking to make a positive change in their lives.
