Bat Colony in Historic Burr House

At the February 26, 2018 Executive Meeting, Council endorsed the following resolution:

“THAT Metro Vancouver be requested to provide a report on:

  • the impacts of the maternity bat colony on the historicBurr House;
  • the effectiveness of the mitigation measures being used to protect the building, including a review of best practices used in other jurisdictions for the protection of historic buildings that are home to bat colonies; and
  • options for relocating the bat colony.”

KidSport Delta Fundraising Event

At the February 26, 2018 Executive Meeting, Council endorsed the following resolution:

“THAT the City of Delta provide sponsorship of $5,000 to KidSport Delta for the third annual Gift of Sport Fundraising Dinner.”

G. MOTIONS ON NOTICE

(G.01) Community Amenity Policy

Councillor Kanakos provided the following Notice of Motion at the February 19, 2018 Regular Meeting for consideration at the March 12, 2018 Regular Meeting:

“WHEREAS from time to time, major development projects come before Council. Major projects offer an opportunity for the consideration of a ‘community amenity’. A community amenity being a project which benefits the community and which is contributed for the community as part of the ‘major development’.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT staff prepare a report for Council’s consideration on a ‘Delta Community Amenity Policy’; and

FURTHER THAT this policy consider options and best practices currently being used by other cities/municipalities and that these be considered in developing a Community Amenity Policy for Delta.”

(G.02) Banner Signs

Councillor Campbell provided the following Notice of Motion at the February 26, 2018 Regular Meeting for consideration at the March 12, 2018 Regular Meeting:

“WHEREAS Delta has adopted and is committed to a branding program;

WHEREAS a component of the program is the branding of each of our three communities with banner type signs in Delta colours;

WHEREAS the banner sign has been removed from 56 Street in Tsawwassen and North Delta has just one banner type sign on Nordel Way;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the banner sign on 56 Street be replaced to its former location as soon as possible and a second North Delta banner sign be
approved at a location to be confirmed by Council.”
