10th Annual Earth Day Photo Contest

To celebrate Delta’s Birds and Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and the 2018 International Ornithological Congress this year’s contest theme will be: Birds & Their Environment.

As part of the 2018 Earth Day Celebrations, Delta residents are invited to participate in our 10th Annual Photo Contest. 

Prizes 

Grand Prize: Waterproof digital camera

Other Prizes Confirmed: Gift cards, photo mugs, recreation passes.

Photos will be displayed at Municipal Hall throughout the month of April.  Winners will be announced April 23rd, 2018.

City of Delta staff (not eligible for grand prize)

How to enter:

Email your unaltered photo to cae@delta.ca

Please include: title of photograph, photographers name (age is optional), category entered, and contact information.

Who can participate?

All Delta residents are allowed to participate and enter a local photograph that represents natural asset or wild space that you are proud to have in Delta. 

How many photographs can I submit?

Only one photograph per person can be submitted. 

Official Rules & Regulations:

With regard to any photograph submitted to this contest, the entrant, or the owner of copyright in the photograph, retains copyright. By uploading or submitting any photograph to this contest, the entrant grants (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants) the City of Delta a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any purpose of the City of Delta, including, but not limited to advertising and promotional materials, its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to the City of Delta publications. The City of Delta will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses. 

You further hereby waive all rights of inspection and release the City of Delta from any and all liability arising out of such use of your name or photograph. You certify you hold all rights to the photographs listed. The name of photographer or any other identification must not be visible. 

Only unaltered photographs will be considered for the contest. 

Judging:

Three winners from each category will be selected from among all eligible entries received.  One grand prize winner will be chosen out of all eligible entries received (does not include Delta staff entries). The judging will be conducted by City of Delta Mayor and/or Council and/or staff.   By entering this contest, participants agree to abide by the contest rules and recognize that the decision of the judging committee is final. The quality of the photograph, relevance to the theme of the contest, and creativity/originality will all be examined in conjunction with artistic merit. 

 *A fan favorite photograph will also be chosen from Facebook & Instagram based on the number of ‘likes’ received.  Residents may also vote at the Municipal Hall where the photos will be displayed.
