38th Annual Polar Bear Swim

Dec 14, 2017

The 38th Annual Polar Bear Swim was a huge success!

We’d like to thank everyone that came out to take part. With 346 participants, (208 last year) the event was well attended and attracted well over 1000 spectators!

Here are a few fun facts:

  • It was a warm 1° on land and 5° in the water.
  • The Eldest Swimmer was 79 year-old Delta resident, Rolf Grigull.
  • The furthest swimmers were Jonas Zeides and Stig Aronsson, who travelled all the way from Hamburg, Germany.

The top 3 swimmers were:

1st Place – Jacob Enns

2nd Place – Stephen Stubbs

3rd Place – Jacob Bonikowsky

We’d also like to extend a huge thank you to all our amazing sponsors!

We look forward to braving this icy tradition in 2019!
