DISCUSSION REPORTS

Crisis Phones Installed on Alex Fraser Bridge

Council received information regarding the newly installed crisis phones on the Alex Fraser Bridge.  Delta Police, along with a number of stakeholders including the Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC, have worked with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure to install crisis phones on the Alex Fraser Bridge to provide support for people experiencing a mental health crisis. The phones were installed on the Bridge in late September and activated on October 18, 2017. View the staff report.

Metro Vancouver Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Feasibility Studies

Council endorsed Delta’s participation in two Metro Vancouver applications to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Municipalities Climate Innovation Program which will investigate opportunities to increase the number of publicly available electric vehicle charging stations in the region. Information gained through these studies would assist with identifying the most appropriate and cost effective locations for vehicle charging infrastructure in Delta. Staff is proposing four potential sites be considered. View the staff report
