2017 Winter Holiday Events

With the holiday season fast approaching there are no shortage of family events to attend at our Leisure Centers. Take a look at the 2017 Winter Holiday Events & Activities Guides to see what's coming up!


Whether you’re looking to stay cozy inside or get outside and be active, there is no shortage of programs available this winter. 

  • Movie buffs are invited to Drive-in Movie Afternoon at Sungod Recreation Centre, every Tuesday  from 12 - 3 pm between December 19 and January 2.
  • Get a one-on-one with Santa at A Morning with Santa in Whoville at South Delta Recreation Centre on December 9, from 9 am until noon. 
  • Decorate gingerbread houses, create Christmas cards and make some ornaments at Christmas Art Day for toddlers every Thursday, between December 21 and January 4, and every Saturday between December 23 and January 6, from 9:30 am and 11:30 am at Tsawwassen Arts Centre
  • Not feeling the holiday spirit? Channel your inner Grinch this season at Skate in Whoville. This event will take place at the Ladner Leisure Centre Saturday, December 16 from 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm and at Sungod Recreation Centre Thursday, December 14 from 6:45 pm to 7:45 pm. This themed skate will be decorated in Whoville fashion and you can expect to take some selfies with the Grinch himself.

If you’re looking to get outside, the Polar Bear Swim returns this January! Grab your family and friends and head to Boundary Bay on January 1 for noon. In its 38th year, this annual event not to be missed!
