Keep up-to-date on some of the highlighted events and programs taking place at your fabulous seniors recreation centres this month! 

What's Happening in March

Kennedy Seniors Recreation Centre

– Annual General Meeting –

Date: Wednesday, March 15
Time: 1 pm

Members of the Kennedy House Senior's Society are invited to the Annual General Meeting taking place on March 15 at Kennedy Seniors Recreation Centre. Agenda and details of the responsibilities of each of the positions on the Board of Directors are available at the Front Desk. 

– Quilt Draw – 

Date: Friday, March 17 

Time: 12 pm
Tickets: $2 for 1, $5 for 3

Make your way to Café Eight-Ate to take part in the Quilt Draw! This stunning quilt was made by the Fraser Valley Quilters, and if you're lucky, it could be yours! Purchase your ticket before March 17.    

– Diners Club – 

Date: Thursday, March 23 

Time: 11:30 am
Price: Member $20, Guests $25 

This month, the club heads to Chettinad Dosa King (formally Ocean Avenue) at 8239 120 Street in North Delta. Enjoy the highly recommended fish & chips, a fan favourite recipe kept by the new management.  

McKee Seniors Recreation Centre

– Kee Philosophers – 

Date: Friday, March 10 
Time: 1:30 pm

The second Friday of every month at the McKee Lounge features some deep discussion! Don't miss out on this informative afternoon as Reverand Jim Short leads a discussion on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

– Jammers –

Date: Thursday, March 9 & 23 
Time: 7 pm 

Whether you're a dancer, a player, or simply a connoisseur, make your way to McKee to join in with the Jammers. Admission is only $1. Enjoy some light refreshments for $1. Bring your instrument if you play! 

– March Madness Luncheon –

Date: Friday, March 31
Time: 12 - 2 pm 
Tickets: Members $13, Non-members $15

The March Madness Luncheon brings a delicious meal alongside fantastic entertainment. Ham, scalloped potatoes, veggies, dessert, coffee and tea are being served while you enjoy a performance by the Suede Dogs. 

Important Information

Volunteers Needed!

McKee is looking for volunteers to help in the McKee Cafe! This is a fun and dynamic kitchen and volunteers are needed to help keep prices reasonable. Please visit the Customer Service Desk for an application form.        

Smoking Bylaw Amendment

Smoking and tobacco products, including vaporizers, are not permitted within the areas of a park or on any municipal land. Get some fresh air. Delta's parks and open spaces are smoke-free!

South Delta Seniors Bus

If you or someone you know could use the South Delta Seniors Bus, there are lots of reasons why you should register! This is a free services that provides transportation within South Delta. It operates Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and is Wheelchair Accessible. For more information or to register, please call 604-358-8765.

Income Tax Preparation Community Volunteer Program

McKee will be offering a simple income tax program to members that have an annual income of less than $30,000 or #40,000 annual income for a couple. For additional information and to register, please contact the Customer Service Desk. Appointments in March can be made between 8:30 am - 12:30 pm on March 7, 14, 21, or 28.
