Call for Nominations - 2017 Delta Heritage Awards

The Corporation of Delta is excited announce a call for nominations for the 2017 Delta Heritage Awards!

These annual awards recognize, promote, and encourage excellence in heritage conservation in Delta. There are two types of heritage awards offered annually:

  1. Delta Heritage Award of Merit 
  2. This award is given to projects, individuals or groups for their contribution in conserving a valuable part of Delta's history. Awards may be granted to urban or rural projects in the area of preservation, restoration, rehabilitation or adaptive re-use and may be considered for their exterior or interior characteristics. Eligible projects include those completed in the past five years, or projects older than that which have not received recognition in a particular category.

    Nomination Criteria


    Submissions for nomination to include:
    • Name, contact information and address of the nominee; (Note: Nominees must agree to the nomination)
    • Reason for the nomination;
    • Documentation of the work in the form of photographs or written descriptions to assist the jury in their assessment of the work;
    • The name of the contact information of the nominator.
    • Owners may nominate their own projects

    Nominations to be sent to Committee Clerk, Corporation of Delta, 4500 Clarence Taylor Crescent, Delta BC V4K 3E2 or by fax to 604-946-3390, or by email to committeeclerk@delta.ca by the annual deadline.

  3. Delta Friends of Heritage Awards
  4. These awards are given to a project, individual or group who promotes heritage conservation and awareness in the areas of education, publication or advocacy. Eligible projects include those completed in the past five years, or projects older than that which have not received recognition in a particular category already noted.

    Nomination Criteria


    Submissions for nomination to include:
    • Name, contact information and address of the nominee. The nominee may be individuals or groups; (Note: Nominees must agree to the nomination)
    • Reason for the nomination, specifically, how the efforts have contributed to heritage conservation and awareness in Delta through education, publication(s), exhibitions or advocacy. This should include a description of the project, photographs, and/or description of the nominee's contribution. Complete information will assist the jury in their assessment of the work;;
    • The name of the contact information of the nominator.
    • Owners may nominate their own projects

    Nominations to be sent to Committee Clerk, Corporation of Delta, 4500 Clarence Taylor Crescent, Delta BC V4K 3E2 or by fax to 604-946-3390, or by email to committeeclerk@delta.ca by the annual deadline.

    Nominations will be juried by a panel of a minimum of three jurors representing the Delta Heritage Advisory Commission. 

    The jury is not required to select winners in every category, nor is one category restricted to a single award. All selections by the jury are final and not open to appeal.
