Sep 30, 2016
Through mid-October 2016, FortisBC is launching a residential energy savings program in Delta to raise awareness for energy conservation and efficiency.
As part of the program, The Corporation of Delta will provide space at the Municipal Hall for a display and invites Mayor Lois E. A similar display will be set up at other locations in the community, with Delta promoting the campaign through its social media channels.
The program is intended provide information and encourage Delta residents to reduce energy consumption in their home by making small behaviour changes. Once residents make the pledge on behaviour changes, FortisBC will provide a reward:
|Behaviour Change Pledge ||FortisBC Incentive |
|Shorten shower time by 1 - 3 minutes ||Efficient showerhead |
|Lower thermostat by 1 - 3 degrees ||$25 furnace filter coupon to Home Hardware |
|Decrease household drafts ||Draft proofing kit (caulking, plug insulators, weather stripping) |
FortisBC has focused on space and water heating as this is where 60% if our home's energy is used.
