Fire Danger Rating: LOW

May 27, 2016

The fire danger rating for the Corporation of Delta has been downgraded to LOW.

Open air burning and smoking in Delta parks is prohibited.

An open burning ban remains in effect for all areas of Delta, including a ban on campfires and open cooking (briquette & propane barbecues) in all Delta Parks until further notice, with the exception of Metro Vancouver-controlled fire pits on Deas Island Park and Boundary Bay. In addition, smoking is prohibited in Delta parks and open spaces.

Delta staff will continue to patrol parks and beaches to ensure there are no unauthorized activities taking place.

We need your help! The public is still urged to exercise caution and remain on designated park trails to reduce the risk of accidental fires.

Please report any fires directly to 911 and any unauthorized activity that poses a risk of fire to the Delta Police Department’s 24/7 non-emergency line at 604-946-4411.
