2016 Delta Career Fair is a Hit!
Apr 29, 2016
For the fourth straight year, the Delta Trades &Technical Career Fair made its way to Sungod Recreation Centre in North Delta and was a rousing success. Over 3500 students, teachers, parents, young adults and other members of the community participated in the event, experiencing a variety of different careers through interactive exhibits with industry professionals available to answer questions.
"I'm excited by how passionate and energized Delta's young people are about their future," said Mayor Lois E. Jackson. "The Career Fair displayed so many incredible options and really allowed people to discover many opportunities for their future that they may not have been aware of."
Established in 2013, the Delta Trades & Technical Career Fair was the product of Mayor Jackson's vision to inspire people to pursue rewarding careers. Every year, the event grows and this year more than 90 exhibits helped people discover their future careers.
Through partnerships with the Delta School District, BCIT, KPU, VCC, and many other employers and industry organizations, the Corporation of Delta has been able to host such an important event on an annual basis.
