South Delta Seniors Bus Program

Apr 21, 2016

Today, the Corporation of Delta realized its plan to make transportation accessible and affordable for South Delta's aging population.

Mayor Lois E. Jackson helped unveil the South Delta Seniors Bus, a program designed to provide inexpensive transportation to South Delta seniors. Modeled around the North Delta program, scheduling will be based out of the McKee Seniors Recreation Centre and will focused on medical appointments, shopping, and social engagement.

Equipped to hold 16 passengers, plus two wheelchairs, the vehicle provides a necessary service to seniors with mobility issues.

To encourage our seniors to live active, healthy lives, we need to enable them to do so by providing an accessible form of transit to meet their specific needs.
