From fruit instruments (a banana piano!) and Punjabi poetry night to arthritis workshops and a news club, there are plenty of creative and informative programs at Delta libraries this April!

What's happening at the George Mackie Library:

Settlement Workers
Punjabi/English – Alternate Tuesdays, Apr 12, 26, –5 pm
Mandarin/English – Wednesdays, 1–5 pm

Are you a newcomer to Canada who needs help adjusting to your new life? Free and confidential services are offered to help newcomers - with all their needs - during the process of settling into their new community.

Next Chapter Book Club
Wednesdays until May 25, 1–2 pm
A weekly opportunity for adults with differing abilities to read and learn together, talk about books, make friends, and have fun.
 
Conversation Circle: Practice Your English
Thursdays until May 26, 7–8:30 pm
If you are learning English and want to practice speaking with other people in a friendly, casual place, then join us for weekly guided discussions about Canadian culture, food and current events.

Grateful Executor
Monday, April 11, 6:30–8 pm
Having a will does not mean your estate is prepared.  This workshop covers important topics for you, your family and your executor, such as probate, powers of attorney, cremation or burial preplanning and living wills.
 
LEGO® Club
Thursdays, April 14 – June 2, 3:30–4:30 pm
Love LEGO®? We provide the LEGO®, you bring your imagination! Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.
 
Poetry Night in Punjabi
Tuesday, April 19, 6:30 – 8 pm
Come hear two published poets/authors read and discuss their work and answer questions from the audience.
 
Teen Night:  Pizza and Games
Tuesdays, April 26, 5 – 7 pm
Do you love to play board games?  Are you between 12 and 19 years old? Then come to the library for a fun night of gaming and free pizza. Games and snacks provided by Imperial Hobbies.

Babytime

Make language fun! Start early with Babytime. Help your baby develop speech and language skills – enjoy bouncing, singing, rhyming and stories with stories. Babytime is a fun, social bonding activity for babies AND caregivers.
 
Sitting and Stitching

Do you want to learn how to knit or crochet? Are you an avid knitter, crocheter, quilter or weaver who wants to meet others and get inspiration or help? Drop in for an evening of crafting fun!
 
Tsawwassen News Club

Ukulele Jam

All uked up and no place to jam?  Whether you are a ukulele newbie or a seasoned strummer, please join us for a fun and relaxed evening with fellow uke enthusiasts.  The group plays an eclectic mix of music so there will be something for everyone.  Bring your ukulele and your singing voice and join us for a great time.
 
Arthritis Series – Tips, Tricks and Tools to Manage Your Joints
Monday, April 25, 1:30–3:30 pm at the Ladner Pioneer Library
Arthritis can make daily activities difficult and painful.  This interactive workshop shares information about the many tools, gadgets and techniques to help make daily tasks easier to do.  Learn tips to help you reduce pain and the impact of arthritis on your activities.
 
Storytime and Craft
Wednesday, April 27, 2–3 pm at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre
Theme: Farms. A small fee will be charged for the craft portion. Drop in.
