Our seniors recreation centres do a fantastic job of organizing a wide range of fun events and programs for young-at-heart Delta residents.
Each month, we highlight a few of these events and programs in our Recreation 50+ updates.
What's Happening in March
Kennedy Seniors Recreation Centre
*Please note Kennedy will be closed on March 25 for Good Friday, and on March 27 for Easter Sunday.
Bus Trip: Central City Breweries Tour
Saturday, March 26, 12–3:30 pm
Join us for a one-hour tour in the new, state-of-the-art, 65,000 square foot craft brewery! The tour price includes three beer tastings. Lunch is not provided; please eat before you come. Tickets will be on sale from March 1 to 17.

Delta Diggers Garden Club
Thursday, March 17, 7:30 pm
Join us for a special presentation by guest speaker Diane Graines, who will be talking about bulbs for the spring and summer! Diane will also have a collection of bulbs for sale.
Delta Diggers meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month, from February to November. Membership is $15 per year, and a Kennedy membership is required to join. A $2 contribution is collected at each meeting towards the cost of refreshments and door prizes.
Welcome To Spring
Thursday, April 14, 1:30–3:45 pm
Celebrate the season with a buffet luncheon and a performance by Musical Variations duo Osvaldo & Sandra D'Souza! On the menu is chicken salad, spring vegetables and a special dessert. Tickets will be on sale from March 8 to April 11.

McKee Seniors Recreation Centre

How Do I Get Ideas? – The Pleasures & Pitfalls Of Writing A Mystery!
Ann Crew, a former architect and now full time mystery writer, travels the world gathering material for future Elspeth Duff mysteries. Ann will be our guest speaker.
You do not have to be a philosopher to participate with the Kee Philosophers. Come along & enjoy current events, listen to people explore timely topics, and share insights & perspectives of your own. Attendance is free and pre-registration is not necessary, so come early & have lunch at the Kee Café!
Elder Abuse Prevention Workshop
Thursday, March 17, 10 am
Elder abuse in any form is wrong. Protect yourself by staying informed. Learn the signs to identify if someone you know might be experiencing abuse or neglect. Reach out for help. Sgt. Dave Schaefer from the Delta Police Department Vulnerable Sector will be joining us for a presentation and a question & answer period. This is a FREE workshop; please sign up at the Customer Service Desk.
