Mayor's Statement on Delta’s Newly Elected Member of Parliament

On behalf of Delta Council, Mayor Lois E. Jackson congratulates Delta’s newly elected Member of Parliament, Ms. Carla Qualtrough.


“Congratulations on achieving the distinction of attaining the position of Member of Parliament for the Delta constituency”, said Mayor Lois E. Jackson. “As Mayor of Delta, I congratulate you on your election as our new representative in Ottawa and I wish you every success. As we collectively advocate for the needs of the people of Delta, may we work together in a spirit of cooperation and understanding to better serve all residents of Delta”.

“I would like to also take this opportunity of thanking the Honourable Kerry-Lynne D. Findlay, PC, QC, MP for her extensive contribution, dedication and ongoing commitment to the many organizations and people whom she served. Thank you for all your years of service for the betterment of our community, our Delta residents and our country, Canada.”

“Over the past years, Delta Council has worked effectively with Minister Findlay and with the Federal Government to deliver impressive results for  our community and we look forward to continuing this relationship with Ms. Qualtrough. Delta’s partnerships with senior governments have provided a critical boost to the local economy and, at the same time, provided much needed upgrades to critical infrastructure, and enhanced recreation and cultural facilities in the community.”

“May I also thank each of the candidates who participated in the recent election, for their efforts and passion; offering to place their names forward to represent our community.

“Above all, a huge thank you must be expressed to all the citizens of Delta who took the time to appreciate and respect our democratic electoral process by exercising their precious right to cast a ballot.”
