Fire Prevention Week - Hear the Beep Where You Sleep!
Oct 05, 2015
Let's be honest, smoke alarms save lives.
That's the message that Delta Fire and the National Fire Protection Association is championing for Fire Prevention Week this year, running from October 4 to 10, 2015.
And really, the numbers provide a similar story:
- Half of home fire deaths are reported between 11 pm and 7 pm, when most people are asleep.
- Three out of five home fire deaths between 2007 and 2011 were caused by fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.
- Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in reported homes by half.
