The Stanley Cup Visits Tsawwassen

Aug 10, 2015

The holy grail of the hockey world makes its way to Tsawwassen as three-time Stanley Cup champion and Olympic gold-medalist Brent Seabrook brings the coveted trophy back to his hometown.

This rare opportunity to witness the Stanley Cup in person and to celebrate Brent’s incredible athletic achievement will take place on Sunday, August 16th from 8 am – 10 am. Everyone is welcome to cheer along the street as Brent parades the Cup on a Zamboni northbound from 16th Avenue and 56th Street to the South Delta Recreation Centre with his family. Afterwards, stay at the Recreation Centre to view the trophy that is often credited as being the hardest to win in sports.

Delta is proud to be Brent Seabrook’s hometown. Brent grew up in Tsawwassen, playing hockey with the South Delta Minor Hockey Association and Delta Ice Hawks before making the jump to the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL. Brent was drafted 14th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2003 Entry Draft and has won the Stanley Cup on three different occasions.

The parade is expected to get underway at approximately 8 am.
