Delta Fire Danger Rating
Mayor Jackson continues to urge residents to be fire safe and aware, especially near the Burns Bog Ecological Conservancy Area. If you are visiting the park, follow these fire safety guidelines: do not smoke, do not idle vehicles, and check the undercarriage of your vehicle for any material and remove. Always be aware of the fire danger rating (posted on deltafire.ca) and fire hazards. The fire danger rating is currently set to High.
Concerts in the Park
Delta’s summer series of free outdoor concerts starts Tuesday, June 23, with a performance by Delta Music Makers at Memorial Park in Ladner. View the concert schedule to find shows in your neighbourhood.
North Delta Family Day
North Delta Family Day is this Sunday, June 28. Start the fun with a parade and continue with activities and the famous Family Day salmon and chicken BBQ.
Join us on Wednesday, July 1, for Canada Day celebrations at Delta Museum, Kirkland House, Diefenbaker Park and Chalmers Park.
Tour de Delta & Community Festivals
The three-day Tour de Delta event is coming up on July 10–12. The event features competitive racing, as well as community festivals.

2015 Heritage Commission Scholarship Awards
Mayor Lois E. Jackson presented certificates to the recipients of the 2015 Delta Heritage Commission Scholarship. Congratulations to scholarship recipient Rachel Hislop-Hook for her written submission, Life in Delta in World War II, and to honourable mention recipient Hailea Caldwell for her video submission, Shaping the Heart of the Village.
2015 Annual Report
Council received the 2015 Annual Report for the Corporation of Delta, including the 2014 Audited Financial Statements, as part of requirements of the Community Charter, Section 167. View the 2015 Annual Report.
2014 Council Remuneration and Expenses
Council received the yearly report detailing Council remuneration and expenses, as part of requirements of the Community Charter, Section 168. View the staff report.
Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Environmental Impact
Council received the Executive Summary of the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Environmental Impact Statement and Project Rational. Staff are currently reviewing the Environmental Impact Statement and will report to Council with preliminary comments once the Review Panel has been struck.

Agriculture Climate Change Adaptation Program Update
Council received an update on the progress of the BC Agriculture Council’s Agriculture & Food Climate Action Initiative’s agricultural adaptation project in Delta. Year two of the program is almost complete with projects expected to wrap up by November 2015. View the staff report.
