Request to Attend Conference
At the May 4, 2015 Executive Meeting, Council endorsed the following motion:
THAT Delta Council support the request put forward by Councillor Kanakos to attend the Making Cities Livable Conference in Bristol, United Kingdom on June 29 to July 3, 2015, in place of attending the LMLGA and FCM conferences (2015) and that a report on the Conference be provided to Council by Councillor Kanakos.

G. MOTIONS ON NOTICE
(G.01) At the April 27, 2015 Regular Meeting, Councillor Bishop provided the following Notice of Motion for consideration at the May 11, 2015 Regular Meeting:
WHEREAS the Corporation of Delta makes every effort to hold open, transparent and inclusive community consultation and communications to engage its citizens; and
WHEREAS Delta residents will be voting in 3 elections (federal, provincial and local ) within the next 3 years; and
WHEREAS the definition of “political use” as per Attachment A item 3C of the Municipal Facility Use Policy restricts to 6 locations where political meetings can be held; and
Furthermore, discriminates by definition against those people and or groups who wish to exercise the democratic right of open and respectful public discourse;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT:
Political Use item 3(c) of the Municipal Facility Use Policy be removed from the Policy so that all public municipal facilities are available for political use, as defined in the policy, so long as the applicant(s) complies with all other aspects of the policy.
