Our seniors recreation centres do a fantastic job of organizing a wide range of fun events and programs for young-at-heart Delta residents. 

Each month, we highlight a few of these events and programs in our Recreation 50+ updates. 

What's Happening in January

McKee Seniors Recreation Centre

Hawaiian Luncheon
Friday, January 30, 12 pm

Take a break from winter! Join fellow members and guests for a Hawaiian-themed luncheon, serving sweet & sour meatballs, rice, salad, dessert and coffee. Enjoy entertainment and wear your finest hawaiian outfit!

New Fitness Program – Fit Mix
Saturdays, 10:30–11:30 am

New year, new fitness program! Fit Mix mixes up fitness routines weekly, so you enjoy a variety of workouts. Cardio and strength components are included. Fit Mix is part of the McKee Mix & Match punch pass.

Kennedy Seniors Recreation Centre

Robbie Burns Dinner
Saturday, January 24, 12:30–3 pm

Join us for a traditional Robbie Burns Dinner, featuring entertainment by Genevieve Dunkley's Clarion Highland Dance Studio. The traditional dinner includes roast beef, haggis, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, fruit crumble, coffee and tea. Cost: Members/$20 Guests/$24.

Basic Digital Photography with Rob Hebden
Thursdays, January 15
–March 12, 1–3 pm
Learn how to take beautiful photos or refine your skills with this basic digital photography course, starting in January. Bring your own camera. Please pre-register at the front desk by Thursday, January 8. Cost: $5/person for all 10 weeks.

Snow Angels Program

Do you or someone you know need assistance with snow removal this winter? The Snow Angels Program assists Delta residents 65 and older or individuals who have physical disabilities to shovel their driveway or sidewalk during a snowfall. If you or someone you know may require a snow angel if it snows, call Kennedy Seniors Recreation Centre in North Delta at 604-594-2717 and McKee Seniors Recreation Centre in South Delta at 604-946-1411.
