Pumpkins for Polio
Oct 22, 2019, 10:00 AM - 05:30 PM
From 350,000 cases of polio in 122 countries 30 years ago to 33 cases in just two remaining countries, the world is almost free of the crippling disease, but much still needs to be done. On World Polio Day, the Rotary Club of Ladner is holding “Pumpkins for Polio” sales event with proceeds going entirely to the Rotary’s End Polio campaign. Later that afternoon, Delta Secondary School will be hosting a pumpkin carving contest.
Thanks to a Rotary-led global campaign, world health organizations, foundations and governments have invested billions of dollars, countless staff and volunteer hours in protecting more than 2.5 billion children around the world. More at RotaryLadner.org.
