Airport Fuel Delivery Project


On February 24, 2016, Port of Vancouver issued a project permit to Vancouver Airport Fuel Facilities Corporation for construction of the Vancouver Airport Fuel Delivery Project on Port of Vancouver land, at the end of Williams Road, on Lulu Island in Richmond, BC.

Construction of the aviation fuel receiving facility is occurring over three phases and is anticipated to be complete in 2018. For more information on this project, visit the Vancouver Airport Fuel Facilities Corporation’s website.


The Vancouver Airport Fuel Facilities Corporation is building a new aviation fuel delivery system for Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The system includes a marine terminal and fuel receiving facility at an existing industrial site located at 15611 Williams Road in Richmond on the south arm of the Fraser River, and an underground fuel pipeline connecting the marine terminal, receiving facility and Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

On December 11, 2013, Minister Mary Polak and Minister Rich Coleman issued a conditional Environmental Assessment Certificate for the Vancouver Airport Fuel Delivery project.

On December 16, 2013, Port of Vancouver issued its decision providing federal approval under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act
