The research and analysis phase of the process is complete and a draft land use concept and design principles have been prepared. A meeting with property and business owners was held on September 19, 2019 and a Public Information Meeting was held on October 9, 2019 to receive input from the broader community. A summary of the research, analysis and consultation undertaken in Phase 1 is being prepared. Phase 2 will involve further refinement of the land use concept and drafting design guidelines as well as additional community consultation.
Tomorrow’s Townline is an initiative to set the long-term vision to rejuvenate the North Delta’s Townline neighbourhood. The 9 hectare (20 acre) neighbourhood located in the north-east corner of North Delta is the gateway to Delta. The site is near the intersection of 120 Street (Scott Road) and 96 Avenue. The area is bounded by the City of Surrey to the north and east, the railway line to the west and 92 Avenue to the south.
Tomorrow’s Townline will help provide clarity and direction for future development in the Townline Neighbourhood. The planning process will result in an update the North Delta Area Plan and will establish policies, principles and objectives for Townline related to:
- Land use and density
- Urban design and built form
- Open space and public places
- Circulation and transportation
- Sustainability and green infrastructure
- Community amenities
- Engineering utilities

96 Avenue was formerly known as Township Road? The road was a survey marker indicating a 12 mile distance from the Canada/USA border and marked the northern line of the township of Surrey. Today 96 Avenue or Townline Road is also located in Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
