Kensington Park Playground Renewal Program

Kensington Park  is located at 6467 Holly Park Drive  in Ladner. It is a multi-use park enjoyed by various user groups and those seeking both passive and active recreation areas.

At the February 11, 2019 Regular Meeting, Council approved the Playground Renewal Program. This program provides $250,000 annually for playground renewal in order to update the playgrounds which are at the end of their 15 year  life span.

The Playground Renewal Program will address aging playgrounds throughout Delta.  On an annual basis, $250,000 has been allotted for this program and two playgrounds will be upgraded each year over the next 14 years.  In 2019 the entire playground at Kensington Park will be replaced with a variety of natural and man-made features.  Also the next area identified for replacement at Annieville Lions Park will be replaced with additional natural play elements..  .

Delta is seeking community input as to which features may be installed at each park.  An on line survey and hard copy input form at the recreation centres will provide information to Delta staff as to the desires of the community.  It is anticipated that the construction for the playground replacements will be complete by the end of 2019.

Consultation Phases

  1. On Line Survey – an on line survey will gather information on which elements are supported by the community.  The survey has closed.
  2. Input Form – a display will be set up at the South Delta Recreation Centre, Winskill Aquatic and Fitness Centre, Ladner Leisure Centre and Ladner Community Centre with input forms that will gather information on which elements are supported by the community.
