Delta Park Improvements Survey

Delview Park is a very active community park with amenities such as two ball diamonds, enclosed dog off-leash area, a playground, a lacrosse box, a passive recreation area, two parking lots and a washroom building.  In order to maximize the use and layout of the park Delta is proposing some enhancements.

Delta is asking you to provide feedback on the four proposed enhancements to the park.  All input received will be considered and a concept be provided for approval by Mayor and Council.

Images of the proposed components are shown below and at Delta.ca/DelviewPark.  You can vote on the proposed changes on-line or using this Feedback Form.

Washroom Replacement

The current washroom building is at the end of its useful life and requires replacement. A new washroom building will be compact and functional, aesthetically suited to the park, accessible and require minimal maintenance.

Community Shelter

Members of the community have expressed a desire for a community shelter to support social gatherings in the park. The proposed community shelter would be available year-round, support other park uses, open on all sides, be located adjacent to the washroom building, approximately 500 square feet in size and have lighting and electrical outlets.

Batting/Bowling Facility

With both the ball diamonds and cricket field at the park there is a desire for a batting / bowling cage to practice batting, pitching and bowling.  This combined use space would be 80 feet long by 30 feet wide, have an asphalt based covered with synthetic turf, sides, ends and cover composed of a chain link fencing or netting.  There are 3 possible locations in the park and we would like your opinion on each of these location.

Dog Off-leash Enclosure Relocation

With the increased use of the park due to potential community shelter addition, relocating and expanding the off-leash enclosure is proposed. Due to the limitations of the existing fenced area Delta is proposing to be relocated the enclosure to the south-west portion of the park where it can be enlarged from 10,000 square feet to approximately 30,000 square feet complete with seating, drainage and water for both dogs and people.
